Specimen Requirements
Container/Tube:
1 Aerobic/Pediatric Bottle and 1 Anaerobic Bottle or 1 Pediatric Bottle for Pediatric Patients/Difficult Draws.
Collect 8-10 mL for the Aerobic/Anaerobic Bottles.
Collect 1-3 mL Blood for the Pediatric Bottle.
Send to Lab ASAP
Do Not Refrigerate
Additional Instructions
Contact lab for proper collection bottles and protocol.
Document collection site and volume of blood placed in each bottle.
Incubation is extended to 2 weeks.
