Additional Instructions

The Osmolal Gap will be reported with a serum/plasma osmolality if a blood Sodium, glucose, and BUN result is available within a 1 hour window of collecting the serum osmolality.
Please be sure these tests and/or a basic metabolic panel have been ordered within that window.
